The Wenimuche Wilderness Area provides unspoiled mountain adventures. Wheeler Monument, Clear Creek Falls, and the Natural Arch are a marvel of the forces and beauty of nature to behold. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is just about an hour away with its many mountains of sand carried in by the wind and deposited at the base of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.

We have gold medal fishing in our abundant streams and lakes. Wildlife living in the region add to the scenic and unique country living experience. A host of other outdoor activities like hunting, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snow shoeing & hiking the “14 ers”(14,000 ft Peaks) will keep you busy year around.

Ride the historic Cumbres and Toltec Railroad through the beautiful Rocky Mountains or take a jeep along the Silverthread Scenic Byway.Wolf Creek Ski Area boasts of the most natural snow of any ski area in Colorado most every season and delights the locals and visitors alike with challenging downhill experiences.

If Golf is your fancy we have that just for you too. A championship 18 hole golf course Rio Grande Golf Club with terrain that is sure to give you every opportunity for satisfying even the greatest enthusiasts of the sport with a “peak” level of competition.

The nationally-acclaimed Creede Repertory Theatre draws nearly 20,000 theatergoers every year. Although productions vary from year to year, musicals, comedies, contemporary and classic dramas are their standard repertoire.
